THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
WHO WE ARE
King Solomon Christian School International is a non stock non profit private Christian educational institution established to provide urban poor children a free access to quality basic education. Though a good percentage 70% of our students can afford to pay tuition fees, the school ensures that it stays true to its calling and main purpose of opening its doors to the less privileged. As the school pursues its mission, the opportunity of free education is also extended to the poor in Payatas area. The Fairview campus which caters to Payatas urban poor children started with a big percentage (90%) of sponsored students compared to paying students.
We have reached milestones and achieved successes amid challenges and struggles, but the school continues to undertake new endeavors to live up to its purpose.
KSCSI is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC). KSCSI is now accredited by the Christian Council for Transparency and Accountability (CCTA-ECFA) as we put much value in stewardship and accountability of our financial resources. We are also Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) accredited to avail government support to private educational institutions.
WHERE WE WORK
KSCSI is a private Christian school in the Philippines with the main campus at Tatalon and a second campus at Fairview both located in Quezon City. The Sponsorship Program of the school reaches out to children from families of low socio-economic status in communities of Tatalon, Fairview, Payatas and other neighboring areas east of Quezon City and Manila City. KSCSI works in partnership with Saved to Serve Christ church for church-related ministries (e. g. discipleship, Bible studies, Values Formation Program) that support our staff , students and their families as well.
WHY WE ARE HERE
We believe that education begins with God, its process in the way of God, and its end for the well being of man, for the glory of God. Emanating from this philosophy is the vision and mission of the school to provide accessible and quality Christian education. We are devoted to Christian teachings and academic excellence. We provide an opportunity for poor children to be educated well, that is why we attach the importance of implementing a Christian approach to teaching and learning process. All other educational approaches are also carefully chosen to meet the learning needs and gaps of our students. In so doing, we aim to implement social justice, make cultural transformation, teach Christian living, and innovate teaching practices in order to produce graduates who are successful in leading their lives as Christian citizens of the country.
WHAT WE DO
Besides being a Christian school, KSCSI has a Sponsorship Program which provides scholarships to qualified students. Annually, the committee accepts applications, screens them according to qualifications, and categorizes them accordingly. The sponsorship fund is a collective fund which pools all donations of sponsors specified for scholarships. We want to reach children whose access to education is hindered by poverty, inequality and malnutrition. We also want to start them young (school age) so that we can make the most of every opportunity to lay the foundation in transforming their lives. Sponsored students receive tuition fee assistance, school transport service, nutritional feeding (as needed and as supplies are available), and pastoral care.
Furthermore, we are establishing the Sponsorship Program for Teachers where we create a fund intended to subsidize teachers’ salary. Given the meager salary our teachers receive, coupled with the attractive pay of public school teachers, this program has become our first move to face the challenge. We intend to keep good teachers who face struggles and dilemmas of being faithful to the teaching ministry of KSCSI while financially supporting their families. We believe that in order to provide quality education, we ought to have teachers who are very much qualified to do the job.
